Automatic Annotation of Audio-Files


For each type of classifier, DSProlog provides the following tools to generate pattern recognition based annotations:

Toolbar (FLC- & SLC-editors) Scan Visualization: Scan current visualization with current classifier (visible in editor). Result is a search record containing annotations. The record is active in memory. Correlation graphs are shown. Useful for interactive testing of single classifiers on short sequences of audio data.
Main menu Scan Current Visualization: Wizard to scan the current visualization with a set of classifiers. Result is a search record containing annotations. The record is active in memory. Correlation graphs are not shown. Useful for testing small sets of classifiers on short sequences of audio data.
Main menu Scan Wave-Files: Wizard to scan audio files with selected classifiers. Result are automatically named data-tables containing annotations. Important tool to search audio file collections of arbitrary size.
Main menu & Toolbar (VIS-editor) Monitor Audio Input: Wizard to monitor audio input. Monitors the main audio directory of the project (without subdirectories). Each time an external audio recorder saves a wave-file in this directory, the file is scanned with a set of previously choosen classifiers. Result are automatically named data-tables containing annotations. Wave-files are either deleted or moved to the subfolder 'Done\' after the scan. Important tool for long-term monitoring of acoustic processes.

Active search records can be deleted by clicking the 'Delete Current Search Records' button in the VIS-Editor. Active records may be saved in data-tables by pressing the +FL- or +SL-button in the toolbar of the database manager.
