Types of Visualizations


Visualizations are graphical representations of acoustic phenomena. Currently, DSProlog supports the following types of visualizations:

  1. Three different color-coded time-energy graphs
  2. Standard DFT-spectrograms (sonograms)
  3. Multi-scale DFT-spectrograms
  4. Phase spectrograms

1. Color-coded time-energy graphs

  1. cU+- = Oscillogram: Positive and negative peak values of a signal
  2. E avg. = Average sound pressure level diagram: Averaged values of the sound pressure level of a signal
  3. E max. = Maximum sound pressure level diagram: Peak values of the sound pressure level of a signal

2. Standard spectrograms: Three-dimensional plot of the energy of the frequency content of a signal

3. Multi-scale spectrograms: Variable DFT parameters provide a better combined time-frequency resolution than the standard spectrogram:

4. Phase spectrogram: Displays the phase information of the spectrogram
